Installing Macintosh Software From Floppy Disks For Triple-Pass ScannersV3.1

Step 1. Install Color-It!

a. Insert the Color-It! disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the floppy icon appears, double click on it to open it.

c. Double click the Color-It! 3.0 Installer.

d. Click the "Continue" button on the introduction screen.

e. After reading the MicroFrontier License Agreement, click on "Continue."

f. Agree to the licensing agreement and click "Install."

g. Select the disk you wish to install into. The default is the Macintoshinternal hard disk. It is best to use that disk. Click on "Install."

h. When the installation is complete, click on "Quit."

i. Click on the floppy icon and drag it to the Trash to eject the disk.

Note: If you have a Macintosh featuring the PowerPC format, you maywish to request the PowerPC version of Color-It!. Call our CustomerService Department to obtain a copy. Theinstallation for the PowerPC version of Color-It! follows the same stepsas outlined above and it will prompt you to switch between disk one anddisk two.

Step 2. Install Wordlinx.

a. Insert the Wordlinx disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the floppy icon appears, double click to open it.

c. Double click on the Wordlinx Installer.

d. When the Wordlinx screen appears, verify the disk you wish to installonto. The default is the internal Macintosh hard disk. You may click on"Drive" to switch to another drive, but the hard disk is recommended.Click on "Install" to begin the installation.

e. When the "Wordlinx was installed correctly" box appears,click on "OK."

f. Click on the floppy icon and drag it to the Trash to eject the disk.

Step 3. Install the Scan Tools for Triple-Pass Scanners.

a. Insert the Scan Tools disk one floppy into the floppy drive.

b. When the Scan Tools window appears you will see six installer iconslabeled: Espanol, English, Italiano, Francais, Nederlands and Deutsch.Double click on the icon for the language you wish to use with your driver.

c. At the "Welcome" screen, click on "Continue."

d. When the "Easy Install" Screen appears, click on "Install."

e. The installation will prompt you to switch between disk one and disktwo. Follow the on-screen instructions.

f. After the installation, the program will prompt you to restart yourMacintosh. Click the "Restart" button. The disk will eject andthe system will reboot.

Step 4. Installing the Plug-ins for Triple-Pass Scanners.

a. Locate the Hard Disk icon and double click to open it.

b. Locate the Mustek Plug-ins folder and double click to open it.

c. Locate the "Mustek Flatbed Scanner…" Plug-in and clickon it once to highlight it.

d. Click on the File menu in the upper-left corner of the screen andselect Duplicate. This will create a copy of the "Mustek Flatbed Scanner…"Plug-in.

e. Click on the File menu and select Duplicate again, this will makea second copy of the "Mustek Flatbed Scanner…" Plug-in.

f. Click and drag the copies of the "Mustek Flatbed Scanner…"Plug-in out of the Mustek Plug-ins folder and drop them on the desktop.

g. Close the Mustek Plug-ins folder.

h. Locate the Color-It! folder and double click to open it.

i. From the Color-It! folder, locate the Color-It! Stuff folder anddouble click to open it.

j. From the Color-It! Stuff folder, locate the Plug-ins folder and doubleclick to open it.

k. Click and drag one of the "Mustek Flatbed Scanner…" Plug-incopies and drop it into the open Plug-ins folder.

l. Close the Plug-ins folder.

m. Close the Color-It! Stuff folder.

n. Close the Color-It! folder.

o. Locate the Wordlinx folder and double click to open it.

p. Click and drag the remaining "Mustek Flatbed Scanner…"copy into the Wordlinx folder.

q. Close the Wordlinx folder.
